I’m soo excited!

Today I’m going to an awesome party Back 2 the 90’s and I’m só excited about this. I used to visit a lot of party’s when I was younger and those moments have been some of the greatest in my life. These days I experience regular party’s a bit different because I’m old as fuck. But this party will be one where I will be among my peoplez again. Less …

Tony Award for Starlight Express (1987)

When I was a little kid my parents used to travel to England about once a year to visit my godmother who lived in one of those old English houses that can be called castles. I don’t mean a big house like a castle I mean an actual castle like in Downton Abbey, but not as big as that though. God I miss that place. It was the best, it …

Addendum

I recently found a funny line that was spoken in a series I was watching (Grace & Frankie, it’s a really great and funny show btw!), and I just had to record it and post it as an addendum for my earlier post My dad hasn’t seen breaking bad yet. So dad, this one is also for you!

The Jim Jefferies Show

The very great Jim Jefferies has got his own late night show now called The Jim Jefferies Show. In the very first episode our little country the Netherlands get’s a lot of attention. I will let you decide wether that’s positive or negative. (Don’t forget the great good while you watch it and happen to be Dutch also). The show just aired so I haven’t been able to find a …

Disable IPv6 on Ubuntu 16.04 Permanently

If you want IPv6 disabled permanently on a Ubuntu 16.04 system, here’s a good way to do it. Disabling it like this should keep it disabled permanently, even after performing updates that could potentially enable it again without you knowing it. I haven’t tested it so I’m not 100% certain but if you decide to upgrade Ubuntu to 16.10 or the most recent version, it should still have ipv6 disabled …

My dad hasn’t seen Breaking Bad

Today I found out that my dad has NOT seen Breaking Bad (yet). Even though I mentioned the show numerous times to both my parents and tried to convince them to at least try and see for themselves if they would like it or not. The fact that my dad has never done so, is, as you will all understand, totally unacceptable. Now I know that he’s mostly just interested …

The War Show 2017 (2doc)

Please forget about your worries for the day and have a look at the following documentary that was aired on national public Dutch television the day before yesterday. You can watch it when you click on “Read more”. The read more button should be visible below here somewhere. If you manage to find it, then CLICK IT! Just do it, it’s your duty. Make sure you watch it till the …

Wifi networks on WAP321

I own a Cisco WAP321 wireless access point and it’s a pretty neat device because it allows you to create multiple different (separated) wifi networks. For home use that option is not really very interesting. Well unless you want guests in your house to use a different wifi network so that they won’t stumble upon you’re fileserver and find your huge collection of ‘out of the ordinary’ weird, cheap, really …

What would you have done?

Last month, Reddit user Khemist49 made a truly unlikely find: a gold master source code disc of the original StarCraft. From 1998. At first, he didn’t know what to do with it. Ultimately, he sent it to Blizzard, who was very grateful to have it back. Khemist49 first came across the disc in a “box of Blizzard stuff” he purchased on eBay. He was shocked at what he saw: a …

How to install MP4Box on Ubuntu 16.04 Headless

“MP4Box is a multimedia packager, with a vast number of functionalities: conversion, splitting, hinting, dumping and others. It can be used for performing many manipulations on multimedia files like AVI, MPG, TS, but mostly on ISO media files (e.g. MP4, 3GP). It is a command-line tool so it can be utilized by scripts like the php script that I want to use. MP4Box is included in the GPAC package.” I want …

Zweven is heerlijk

Here’s a short video that was aired in tv program DWDD just before the elections in my country when most people didn’t have any idea who to vote for up untill election day. I thought it was pretty good so that’s why I wanted to share it. It’s in Dutch and it does not have any subtitles.

Eye of the needle. An Ayahuasca journey

Somebody I know, and who is very dear to me, works as a guide who hosts Ayahuasca ceremonies so naturally I wanted to know more about that and I’ve been watching a lot of stuff on youtube and that included an episode of Eye of the Needle that I posted below.

Fresh Meat

Finally!! I’ve found a new show to binge. It’s been a while since I did some serious binging. Might be weeks, perhaps even months! Hallelujah Netflix, praise you internet, thank you mother Data for bringing me Fresh Meat. British shows always need a bit more time to warm up to. I believe this is because British shows usually choose to let the viewers get acquainted with the characters because that …

Jules Deelder @ Jinek

Jules Deelder at his “best” at talkshow Jinek. It’s worth watching the complete show because it’s an adventure for all the other guests right from the start till the end.

Adèle Bloemendaal: Eens wil ik er van af zijn

Oh my god this show is depressing. My advice is: don’t watch it! But if you’re like me and take that sort of advice as an incentive to actually watch it, well try to see what the maker did here, an amazing job, but like I just said, it’s really depressing. I just finished watching it and I will now go to bed and cry myself to sleep, hopefullly. Good …

The Great Dictator

Let us not forget this speech. And let us not forget that history repeats, tends to itself. It’s Ok te be afraid. But everything will be OK!

Asperger’s are us (2016)

Having known, and perhaps even still knowing several people with Asperger’s syndrome, made me realise that there a several things on the list of symtoms that make up the spectrum that I also recognize in myself. But the list is pretty diverse and I belive that almost every person out there will recognize certain things from the list in their own behaviour. Growing older, and of course mainly becoming wiser, …

My favorite Cohen song as tribute

Mr. Cohen has passed away. R.I.P. Here’s my favorite songs that I associate with a certain somebody that was close to me at one time.

What does your life sound like?

For me personally my life feels pretty much like the following audio bits. It does get rather depressing in the end, but don’t look too much into that. From where we are standing there is only one linear path ahead of us, and that’s not a bad thing, but it can sadden me. No life without death right? No light without darkness. I could go on and on with more …
