What I've been working on

In the early summer of 2019 I purchased an Oculus Virtual Reality headset, and this made me discover my passion for 3D. A very popular "game" for the Oculus is VRChat, and in it people are allowed to upload their own worlds and avatars.

Obviously, I wanted to try this out myself, so I started searching for a free app that could help me with this. And that is how I discovered an awesome app called Blender. Since the late summer of 2019 I've been spending a lot of time in Blender. Learning things literally almost every day. It has almost been two years now that I've been working with Blender, and I myself am still amazed how much I've learned since then.

What started out with the idea to build a simple avatar for myself, has grown to be something much bigger. Currently, I am investigating the options for me to take some courses or find an internship somewhere, so that I can eventually start earning a living with it. But my insecurities are holding me back at the moment. I feel that I still need to learn more before I could ever consider myself to be a professional 3D artist. But I'm working on it. How to overcome feelings of insecurity? One way is to be acknowledged by other people, and be open for any critiques. So for this reason I decided a while ago to build a website, to showcase some of the things that I've been working on in Blender.

My idea was to build something of a portfolio and upload my creations to it, so it will hopefully some day show the progress I made and how my skills have improved over time. I would like to invite you all to take a look at this website. A fair warning: the site itself currently loads rather slow, but this will change once I've migrated it to a different server. The video's that are posted on the site will however load superfast since they are already stored on a fast server and are using adaptive bit rate. The address is https://visiestudio.nl.
